WHITEHOUSE COMMUNITY CENTER

Partnering for Progress

In 2018, the Whitehouse City Council drafted the City's first Strategic Plan. Identified as a key priority was the need to re-establish a central area of the community focused on a mixture of outdoor spaces, opportunities for collaboration, and enhancing the identity of the City. City leaders further heard in a 2021 community survey that additional community spaces were desired and began working towards meeting these needs.

For the past several years, the Mayor & City Council have been purchasing property and enhancing our partnerships with community organizations and individuals to meet these goals. So far, this has resulted in more room for the Whitehouse Farmers Market, more space for soccer fields and Whitehouse Sports Association on Whitehouse ISD property, and soon, there will be a new community center located at 109 E. Main.

This community center will provide spaces for banquets, meetings, conferences, training, and some office space for the Whitehouse EDC and the Whitehouse Area Chamber of Commerce. Through strategic planning, the Mayor & City Council have funded the project while also lowering property tax rates. With an expected completion date of May, 2025, we are excited to begin seeing construction progress at the site.
